What we do

We help First Nations communities, Indigenous Organizations and Nations make land-use decisions that protect what matters: healthy forests, safety, economic opportunity, and long-term relationships with the land.

What success looks like

Every indigenous-led initiative has unique priorities, governance, and relationship with the land. We begin by listening. Together, we develop solutions that align with your vision for stewardship, economic development, and future generations.

Wildfire & Forest Management

REDUCED WILDFIRE RISK. HEALTHIER FORESTS

We support forest-management strategies that lower wildfire risk while protecting the values that matter to you.

What we offer:

  • Landscape-wide wildfire-risk and forest-condition analysis

  • Stewardship and management planning that can lower fire intensity

  • Harvest planning where cutting serves forest health, not the other way around

  • Forest-health monitoring and change detection

  • Practical spatial tools for community engagement and decision-making

Forest Restoration & Carbon Projects

RESTORED FOREST. LONG-TERM CARBON VALUE

We help restore degraded and wildfire-impacted forests while assessing and developing carbon opportunities.

What we offer:

  • Restoration planning for degraded and wildfire-impacted land.

  • Major project carbon opportunity assessment, project planning, development, and registration.

  • Establishing forest carbon baseline and scenario modelling.

  • Remote-sensing inventory and field-plot design.

  • Indigenous-led planning and stewardship.

Measurement, Planning & Community Tools

CLEAR INFORMATION. STRONGER LOCAL CAPACITY

We turn forest and carbon data into maps, models, and visual tools that support leadership and community engagement.

What we offer:

  • LiDAR-based forest measurement, from individual trees to landscapes up to one million hectares

  • High-resolution forest-growth, harvest, and scenario modelling

  • GIS mapping, visualizations, and tailored decision-support tools

  • Training in forest and soil carbon monitoring

Biochar & Soil Solutions

WASTE TO RESOURCE. HEALTHIER SOILS

Wood that gets left behind is usually burned or wasted. We turn it into a soil product that locks up carbon and improves growing conditions, with seedling media innovation and land application planning done to code.

HOW WE WORK

We listen first.
Then we build a path forward together.

Innovatree is indigenous-owned. We start by listening to your priorities and relationship with the land. Then we bring technical tools and practical support into the process to help turn those priorities into long-term action.
