FEATURED PROJECTS
CARBON PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
Leveraging Carbon for Improved Project Outcomes
Innovatree works alongside First Nation communities to account for forest and soil carbon losses when major projects affect their territories. This work brings carbon into the assessment of ecological, economic, and cumulative effects, supporting informed decisions and negotiations.

FOREST RESTORATION
Restoring forests after wildfire
Working alongside WWF-Canada and the Secwépemcúl'ecw Restoration and Stewardship Society, Innovatree supports the planting and monitoring of cultural plants and trees across wildfire-impacted shared territories in British Columbia through the 2 Billion Trees program.

WILDFIRE & FOREST MANAGEMENT
Salmon Parks Forest Planning
Innovatree’s collaboration with the Salmon Parks Stewardship Society brings together LiDAR mapping, field-based carbon monitoring, and Forest Guardian software to support forest planning that reflects cultural priorities, protects salmon habitat, and addresses wildfire risk.

MEASUREMENT, PLANNING & COMMUNITY TOOLS
Community-Led Carbon Monitoring
Innovatree works with Indigenous communities and organizations across British Columbia to develop carbon monitoring tools that reflect local stewardship priorities. Through hands-on training, field measurement protocols, and digital tools, we support communities in leading data collection, interpretation, and reporting.

FOREST RESTORATION & CARBON PROJECTS
Wetland Carbon & Conservation
Working with local First Nations, Innovatree assessed soil carbon and ecological conditions in wetlands, agricultural lands, and recently logged areas. The project established baseline data to support wetland monitoring, restoration planning, and conservation, in alignment with fish habitat protection and restoration.

BIOCHAR & SOIL SOLUTIONS
Helping new forests take root
Innovatree is testing biochar made from forestry residues as a growing-medium amendment for conifer seedlings. Planted in wildfire-affected landscapes in southern British Columbia, the trials assess biochar potential to improve tree survival, support drought tolerance, and store carbon.
